Was playing a game happily, client froze and then it disconnected me and when I went to go back I keep getting this but before that I get a ‘Connecting to server’ displayed.
And when it froze a few people were still moving whilst others were not

I’ve never heard of being disconnected as well as seeing other people move around o_O

Not 100% sure 
ID 17 is a server shutdown.
So when you tried rejoining (my guess from an unrefreshed page), you were trying to rejoin a dead server.
You probably weren’t seeing other players moving, as only the client can move when the server is disconnected because once the server is gone, no more data from other clients is passed to your client.

Nah because I checked the servers and the game was still going fine as daisies
Sometimes it appears to be that way.
Sometimes I test my games with people, and I intentionally shut down the server to restart the game.
When I refresh, even though I closed the server, it remains in the list for a couple to several minutes.

Nah because when I refreshed it another player left so the server is still there
That doesn’t mean it’s still there.
Something like this happened to me earlier. When I was loading my game up, it had the connecting screen with how many studs, instances etc were there and then lost connection. Trying to re- join straight after resulted in me getting the ID = 17 error. My friend was in the server before I was and he didn’t have ANY trouble (was on Skype w/ him)
